SIGNIFICANE OF EDITING A MOVIE

It is an art of storytelling.

Film editing is the process of selecting and joining together of shots, connecting the sequences, and finally creating a motion picture. Film editing is an unique art of cinema, separating film-making from other forms of art that preceded it such as photography, theater, dancing, writing, and directing. Film editing is often referred to as the "invisible art" because when it is well practiced, the viewer can become so amged that he or she is not even aware of the editor's work.

Film editing is an art that can be used in diverse ways. It can create montages to sensually provoc the audience; become’s a laboratory for experiments in cinema; brings emotional truth to an actor's performance; create a point of view on other events; guide the director to tell the story and maintain pace of a story; create an illusion of danger on screen where there is none; and even create a vital subconscious emotional connection to the viewer, among other possibilities. Accessories

It is a part of every camera it may be video/still so do consider them as integral part of your instrument. The list is
A good quality water proof carrier for the camera, always use recommended batteries, with the appropriate charger device, use a proper shoulder strap belt, UV filter for your lens, then comes a tripod, a head cleaning tape for every tape medium camera and if you can afford you should purchase a portable light for your video camera.

Technology

This is the topic on which I would like to blog every day.
I remember the phrase -- "Accept the good and the best things of what u see in and around you and try to repair the bad or devil once if possible ".
So I m trying my best to make myself and my friends to know better about the technology and try to accept the best and leave the rest to the developers who are making these instruments and help them to develop the instruments in a a more user friendly way.

Today we see better picture quality better sound effects in movies as well as in our home television sets because of technology.Home theatres are the best examples of these.
Today we have instruments which our doctors use in Operation theaters while operating a patient .With the help of these we can see the footage of the complete operating procedure.
We have CCTV cameras for having a strict vigil on everything going around us.Not to forget the cameras in our mobile phones .Gone are the days when the camera used to be a prized possession for the middle class.

Video Camcorders for amateur

Video camcorders/ handy cam are friendly instruments which are made in such a way that even a 4 year old kid can operate it. But then what are the aspects that we should consider while going to buy one?I have tried to put it down below

1)When we talk about handy cams/ amateur video cameras we should be careful regarding the the effective resolution/pixel output of the camera
2) We should check the recording formats i.e the medium in which the video is going to be recorded .For example MPEG1,MPEG2,MP3 etc.
3) The recording medium i.e. a DVD, memory card, DV cassette, VHS cassette, HD cassette or etc etc .
4)Then comes the lenses. The optical and digital zoom should be checked. The optical zoom is the zoom effect due to the nature of the lenses.Digital zoom is the zoom effect due to the software inside the camera.
5)Battery consumption.
6) And at the end the most important thing is the after sales service since any electronic goods can go dead at any moment even without even opening the company seal.

So good luck into buying one!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Digital Still Cameras for ameture

These are the cameras running with censors and memory cards here it has a variety of them such as SD, MS, HD, PS and a lot of them are there but what should we go for is the price, the pixel/resolution and the make of lenses are the basic things we should first think of before buying these instruments. Hope people will understand this and will make a good decision for the above.

A) pixels or resolution matters if you want to make a bigger size print out, for home users i think 5 megapixel cameras are sufficient we don’t need more than that.

B) Than comes the censor there are two of them one is CCD and the other is CMOS after going through these two chips i get that it is of no use to home/amateur users what is it CCD or CMOS it depends only on professional medium that also on demand thing of shooting conditions.

C) Now comes the integral part the make of the lens I prefer to suggest that we should go for a Carl Zeis lens, don’t ask why just see that who is the highest seller in the market that’s SONY and they use ZEIS lenses that’s not the only reason for me to say this but its my personnel experience that Sony has the best cameras for amateur/ home users.

D) Always opt for the best optical zoom don’t go for the highest values of digital zoom since by digital zooming we magnify the image digitally it dose not give a good out put result.

Photography in Day to Day Life

Why do we human beings look at our own image regularly in a mirror? The answer could be one of these questions :
a) How do I look?
b) Why do I look like this ?
We human beings generally obsessed with ourselves."Beauty lies in the eyes of the beholder".Every human being is beautiful in his own eyes.Capturing the moments when we look beautiful is one of the possible reasons we turn to photography. Again human beings have an innate tendency to have anything that is beautiful permanently with themselves. For example say we go to a beautiful place."If only I could stay for ever in this place" would be the
possible feeling in one's mind.Similiarly say a couple of old friends meet. I am sure they would love to store the moment close to their hearts.A photograph makes it possible. Is'nt it. So here are the tips which i feel are essential for a good photo

1)What not to do while doing photography :

It may sound foolish to you but it is the part which is to be taken care of by every one of us,
A) Don’t shoot against light.
B) Always white balance your camera while clicking a photograph.
This term white balance is a little bit technical but still i would like to explain it.
Since the day when color cinema was introduced we know there are only two sources of light one is our day/sun light and the other one is fire/or our bulb which we technically say as tungsten light.
Technically we know these are the two source of light which we have to be with always. But today we see there are a verity of lights all over some are yellow in color some are said to be white and some are orange or red in color, that’s the reason why we have to white balance our camera.
Again I would like to thanks the technology that we don’t need to do this in our amateur cameras where we have everything done in the PRESET mode just we have to see that what colors are coming in the LCD and select that source of light that’s it/ or else we can shoot everything in the AUTO function mode of these cameras.
Another word preset means the feeded in sources of light and their color temperature which makes your work easier.
C) Try to shoot in at least 100 ISO prefer to do that for lower grains/electronic noise (ISO stands for international standerd organisation, the numerical value of sensitivity of the medium in which we are capturing the image.
D) Don’t shoot in low light.
E) Always avoid direct sunlight since it gives a lense flair in the frame which distracts the exposure level in these ameture cameras.
F) Always use a UV filter in the front part of your lens.

2)Looking through the view finder.
The view finder is the part of the camera through which we see the photograph, in todays digital medium it may be a LCD screen or an electronic color monitor at a size of 2 cm fitted in the uper most part of the camera.
The photograph which we are going to click is seen through this eye or frame or view finder of the camera from where we can say that this would look great or appropriate as whatever is the subject.
The framing sense is something which looks good and pleasant to our eyes. As a student of cinema we have been tought a lot about moods and framing or angle of view of the frame.
But still I as a human being just prefer to say when I am clicking a photo it may not make a sense or significance to anyone but should look pleasant to our eyes. Without any regrets to any of our teachers of world cinema.

Welcome to the world of Cinematography

Cinematograhy is an art by itself and is related to cinema .Common man perhaps may question " what does cinematography mean" or "what do these people who call themselves cinematographers do?"

Cinematography is the medium of visualisation through which cinematographers help the director of a movie to showcase his concept or storyline .The story gets converted into a reel which looks real to the audience.

With whatever little knowledge i have i am putting forward an effort to take you to the wonderful world of cinematography. WELCOME
